New Year  New Intentions

This is how we usually enter a new year. Usually with more energy, new intentions and hopes for a better and more productive year.

You sit down and make your plans for the next months. You put all our intention into these new plans and really believe and feel that NOW is the time. Now is the time to start afresh and get ALL the things and projects done you didn’t do last year. Goal

Often, after a few months or even weeks, the intention fades out and suddenly before you know it, life gets in the way. You get sidetracked. Your plans evaporates, you feel bad about it  and later you wonder what happened.

The great question is:

So HOW do you avoid the usual pattern and actually stick to your plan and new intentions?

  1. Be realistic

Don’t overestimate what can be done setting goals that are too incredible or high. It’s really important that you are realistic when you set your goals and about how much can be done.

Many times what happens is, that you lose incentive, motivation and the discipline if you don’t have a realistic plan.

When setting your goal find out what must be done every month to reach that goal. Calculate back and find what your weekly and daily activities need to be. Are your daily activities realistic? If not, readjust your goal.

Example: You want to lose 20 kilos in 3 months. You are told that to reach that goal you must ingest only 900 calories a day and exercise 2-3 hours on top of that (this is just a random example and NOT a scientific fact)

Will you be able to do that? If not you readjust your goal, let’s say, to 7 kilo in 3 months.

Important! Don’t be vague about your goal. “I want to be a millionaire in 3 months” is a vague and diffuse goal. On the other hand, “I want to reach 1000K in 3 months” is a clear and calculable goal.

  1. Be time specific

Making a time frame is important. First of all, because a time frame will help you keep your perspective and overview of the plan. Also, a specific date is a milestone where you evaluate how well your plan worked and if it needs to be readjusted.

Setting goals every 3 months is also a good idea, because it’s easier to be consistent if the end date of your plan is not too far out in the future.

With a date too far off you may fall into the danger of postponing things, because you feel you’ve got plenty of time. This is especially critical if you are the type of person that procrastinates not getting yourself together before deadline is threatening near.

90 days blitz are really popular, especially when you are working in network marketing.

  1. Be persistent and disciplined.

This is like the most important aspect, because if you don’t have the discipline to be persistent you really won’t get anywhere.

If you lose motivation after one week because you don’t get results, know this – you WILL get results as long as you continue. You will get NOTHING f you DON’T continue!

Discipline – 3 Steps To Overcome Your Struggle

This is about making up your mind to go on NO matter what. That is why you MUST make your DAILY action plan.

Your daily action plan is where you can see what to do each day during the time the plan lasts.

However, it can be very difficult to be disciplined and follow your plan through. The good news is that when you get sidetracked or give up, it is most likely because there is NO goal, NO action plan, and NO time frame.

Which means that when you have planned and scheduled everything into detail and on a daily basis,  it is SO much more easier for you to stick to your plan.
